When Pastor Steve stepped down from military service, he continued to serve the country by training the next generation of military Mass Communication Specialists as a civilian teacher at the Defense Information School.

It was while he was serving in Italy that Pastor Steve was shown by God what he had been training for all those years. God was preparing him for service to Him and His Kingdom. Pastor Steve understood clearly that God had called him to proclaim the love of God to the children of God, and it is through his love serving his fellow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coasties that he learned even more about the importance of serving his brothers and sisters in Christ, teaching them, telling their stories, and building their faith by continually pointing the the love God has for them.

It is Pastor Steve’s prayer that this blog, and the work that God is doing through this pastoral care and counseling, that you will grow in your faith and understanding of your Lord, which will translate into a positive change in your life, and others will see your deeds done in love and give praise to our God in Heaven.

Pastor Steve is currently serving at Calvario Casa Grande in Arizona in a non-pastoral role while producing this blog, and a podcast called Faith of the Centurion, while also working on two books. Pastor Steve was previously an Elder in the Free Methodist Church where he served as the senior and founding pastor for The Risen Refuge FMC in Jersey City, and senior and co-founding pastor for Pathway FMC in Baltimore. Before that, he served as senior pastor for multiple churches for the United Methodist Church on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Pastor Steve holds a Doctorate in Ministry in Pastoral Counseling, a Master’s Degree in Human Relations, a Master’s Degree in Divinity, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. He and Rita have been married since 1999 and have two daughters, Carol and Megan.
